Remote HEDIS Reviewer-RN/LPN/LVN (JOB# MVH-14591)

MedViewHealth is seeking RN’s, LPN’s/LVN's for the 2025 HEDIS season.    This is a contracted remote assignment with most groups starting in January 2025 thru May 2025.    Candidates must be available 40 hours per week Monday thru Friday during normal business hours.    The exact expected start times will be specified by the assigned team lead.    Weekend and evening hours are NOT permitted. Please understand that hours may vary depending on work available.


HEDIS Reviewers will be assigned with a team to conduct medical record research, abstraction or over read applying the NCQA Technical Specifications.    Individual teams will be assigned according to need, preference and experience.
  • HEDIS Abstractor:  The HEDIS Abstractor is responsible for performing detailed medical record reviews of charts collected and uploaded from provider offices, hospitals, insurance claims and other procedures to determine quality of care for a variety of HEDIS Hybrid measures.
  • HEDIS Researcher:  The HEDIS Researcher is responsible for using various systems to locate provider specific information.  Platforms utilized include insurance claims systems, NPI databases, state immunization registries, electronic medical record (EMR) systems and health plan specific data collection software.
  • HEDIS Over‐Reader:  The HEDIS Over‐Reader is responsible for verifying and validating that the data reviewed by the HEDIS Abstractor is accurate.  Extensive abstraction experience and knowledge of NCQA Technical Specifications is necessary for this role.  The Over‐Reader acts as the second set of eyes on the abstracted data.


HEDIS Reviewers will be supplied with a client issued laptop.  Each reviewer is responsible for supplying secure high‐speed internet at their home work location (see requirements below).


Candidates are required to complete MVH’s preliminary testing that consists of a HEDIS Knowledge Assessment Test and a Computer Skills Competency Test to be considered for employment.


Requirements:

  • Current RN or LPN/LVN license in good standing.  Any state is acceptable.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience performing HEDIS hybrid medical record reviews.  HEDIS review experience must be within the past 2 years.
  • Attend all HEDIS abstractor trainings.  Training dates and times will be specified once you are assigned to an area.
  • HIGH SPEED INTERNET REQUIREMENT:  Must have reliable service from one of the following ISP’s to support the applications.  Modem must be located in or near your planned work space.
    • Approved ISP:  Cable (e.g., AT&T, Charter, Comcast, Spectrum, Verizon FIOS)
    • Not Approved ISP:  Satellite, Dial Up, MIfi “hot spots” (e.g., Direct TV, Exede, Hughesnet, Avaya IP Hardphone technology, MIFI Hotspots, Line of Site Internet service or 3G and 4G data plans)
    • Minimum Internet Speeds:  Internet service must meet these minimum speed requirements.
      • 5mb download (20 mb is recommended) and 5mb upload.
  • Extensive computer knowledge:  Must pass the Computer Skills Competency Test.  Must be proficient with the applications listed below prior to being placed on the project.  Training will mostly be on how to navigate the health plans data entry systems.
    • Windows Remote Desktop (familiarity with accessing a remote desktop, ability to toggle between the remote desktop and local laptop, familiar with using RSA token/key fob for secure access).
    • Microsoft Outlook (compose/send/reply to emails, sending secure email, send email with attachment)
    • Microsoft Skype (set up, open, view and reply to IM’s, set up contact list)
    • Microsoft Excel (filtering, copy cells, delete/add rows, navigate between worksheets, rename and save worksheet, merge cells)
    • Microsoft Access (save on desktop, open, filter, view various worksheets)
    • Other computer skills (open hyperlink, access various web browsers, create and change a password, add icon to desktop, move/re-display a window, pin item to taskbar, move a file, extract compressed file, search programs)
  • Self‐starter with the ability to solve basic technical issues and work independently.
  • Records reviewed will be audited for accuracy prior to being released to full production and frequently throughout the project.  Each abstractor must meet 100% accuracy prior to being released to full production.  Thereafter, an overall average of 95% is required to maintain placement on the project.
  • Attend weekly meetings with HEDIS Lead and Program Managers.
  • Ability to meet and maintain daily and weekly productivity standards.
